I am a Phd student working at Argonne regularly each summer. I stay here every time. Many of Argonne employees stay here. The house is within walking distance to the train. It is also only a 25 minute safe train ride into Chicago. The grocery stores and restaurants are within walking distance. It is very safe to walk at any time. The house is quiet and clean. The owner is so nice. I have been dropped at the train station in bad weather. The room is comfortable and has anything you will need, and if there is something you want - just ask. I needed a bigger desk, and I had one the next day. Argonne Lab people stay here! especially if you want to explore Chicago on weekends. I never have had a problem with my deposit. Maxx May 2025
I had a fantastic 60 day stay at this place! The home was spotless, cozy, and had everything I needed for a comfortable visit. The location was perfect, close to restaurants, public transport and beautiful Lagrange downtown.
They are incredibly welcoming and responsive, providing clear instructions and making sure I had everything I needed. I am a doctor doing rotations and the house is centrally located in Chicagoland, so my commutes were very easy.
I highly recommend staying here for anyone working short term in Chicago! I’ll definitely be back! Anwer November 2024
I've stayed here twice in the last year for 3 months each time and I'm coming back again at the end of the year. My room is so comfy and the house is beautiful. Everything in the room you may need from fans to a mini heater (I like my room hotter), to hand sanitizer to Kleenex! Bed is comfortable and there is lots of closet space and room space. The house and bathrooms are kept very clean. The area is so nice, quiet and safe. The owner is wonderful. Very kind and helpful. We would go out for pizza regularly. Very nice and really respectful to the renters. I always received my security deposit back with no problems as I did not cause any damage. STAY HERE! Stephen November 2024

This is a really great option for someone looking to rent a room in a large house, especially those looking for a quiet, safe neighborhood. The owner is very accommodating to every need and highly respectful of all renters. I particularly liked having a driveway to park my car. Beautiful home. Fair rent. I am from Europe and came to work at Argonne Labs for one year. I stayed in Lagrange and loved it! It is a beautiful, safe neighborhood very close to downtown Chicago. My commute to work was about 25 minutes and on the weekends I was close to Chicago to visit and explore. Chicagoland is very expensive and staying here was very affordable and the location is perfect. Very kind and very hospitable. The house is beautiful, and my room was very comfortable. I didn't like the Argonne Hotel and it is very expensive, plus the area around Argonne is very spread out and very dull. Not much to do and you need a car. La Grange is beautiful - the area is like a European village. I highly recommend staying here. Juan May 2023

I am a travelling nurse. I stayed in LaGrange for two - 3 month contracts. Living in this house in La Grange is like a Hallmark movie! Big beautiful, Victorian homes. It is beautiful here and the house is lovely and very comfortable. The owner is very nice and makes sure you have everything you need. I am not a big cook so I walked into downtown La Grange daily to eat at one of the many restaurants. Staying here is fantastic! Rick Aug 2023

​I am a doctor from Saudi Arabia doing a month clinical. This is a great house in LaGrange, a peaceful, quiet, and very family friendly area. I took the basement and honestly everything I needed was available, and if something was missing, the homeowner, made sure everything is readily available. The basement is big with a big couch and a bed and a private bathroom and is well ventilated. All the amenities were available and in great shape like the fridge, microwave, stove, and laundry equipment. The house is a 10-minute walk from the main street where you'll find a lot of stores including trader joe, dollar store, jewel osco, and many restaurants as well as a Pace bus stop.
